DNA fragments in the range of 100 bp to 20 kb are typically separated in agarose gels using submarine style electrophoresis units. Hoefer offers two sizes of submarine units for quick results or high throughput. Mini submarine unit HE 33 is ideal for rapid separations. The HE 99X Max offers a variety of gel lengths and sample well combinations to fit the user's needs. Please select the submarine agarose units for more details. Smaller fragments, <100 bp, are typically separated on polyacrylamide gels in a vertical format. We recommend the Hoefer MiniVE or the Mighty Small II units for small fragments up to 1 kb.
